Winnie Yip, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatry Providers
Nurse Practitioner of Psychiatry
Since becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner in 2015, Winnie has focused her practice on
community health. Winnie believes in the importance of providing accessible and whole-person
care to individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.
Winnie advocates for evidence-based interventions designed to prioritize patient safety and
dignity. She provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for individuals with opioid use
disorder while emphasizing the importance of integrating behavioral therapies into the recovery
journey. Her approach not only addresses patients’ immediate health needs, but also promotes
an inclusive environment where patients of diverse backgrounds are supported without stigma
or discrimination.
Winnie’s commitment to patient care extends beyond the clinical settings. Her research focuses
on social determinants of substance use disorders and the relationship between trauma
exposure and the subsequent development of addictive disorders.
In conjunction with her roles in clinical practice and research, Winnie is committed to training the
next generation of nurses. She currently serves as a preceptor for Doctor of Nursing Practice
students at our center.
